We’re looking for an Engineering Team Lead to join a well established SaaS company, supporting a team of engineers while helping shape technical direction, architecture and delivery. This role combines hands-on engineering with team leadership, though the focus leans more toward people leadership. It’s well suited to someone who enjoys mentoring, developing engineers and creating an environment where teams can do their best work, while still remaining technically involved when needed.
You’ll be leading from the front, setting clear expectations and taking pride in helping engineers grow in both capability and confidence.
Experience required:- Experience leading software engineers as a Team Lead, or acting as a senior engineer with leadership responsibilities
- Background working as a Senior, Lead, Principal or Team Lead engineer
- Strong experience mentoring and coaching engineers at different stages of their career
- Comfortable setting expectations, managing performance and fostering a positive engineering culture
- Experience contributing to architectural discussions and technical design decisions
- Ability to introduce and improve engineering standards, practices and delivery metrics
- Confident remaining hands-on and contributing to code when required
- Python and/or Django
- Azure or AWS
- Kubernetes
- Docker
- Git
- API and integration work
- Leading and supporting engineers in their day-to-day work
- Mentoring, coaching and developing team members
- Setting and maintaining technical and behavioural standards
