A new joint venture between a European SaaS platform and a major UK construction and infrastructure business is building a carbon focused data product for the built environment. The aim is to turn messy project and supply-chain data into decision ready insight that helps contractors win and deliver work more competitively, not just file another ESG report. The venture is well funded, backed by private equity, and has a clear brief to build a serious market facing product rather than a side of desk innovation project. Early tools used on live projects show what is possible, the next step is to industrialise this, connect it to richer supply chain data, and layer in AI where it genuinely speeds up insight and decision making.
The mandate
- You will be the senior technical voice for the JV, accountable for:
- Setting the technical direction for a carbon and data platform that can scale across contractors, asset types and geographies.
- Translating detailed user and regulatory needs into pragmatic product and delivery decisions, working with both the construction and software sides of the business.
- Building and leading an engineering organisation that can ship iteratively, integrate with an existing SaaS ecosystem, and handle sensitive data safely and reliably.
- Making clear calls on where to buy, partner or build, including assessing acquisitions and third party tools that strengthen the data and product story.
You will sit at the intersection of product, data and M.
