We are looking for a dynamic Clinical Education Director to join Optum and lead clinical content and education strategy for FourteenFish, our trusted platform that simplifies appraisal, revalidation and CPD for the healthcare workforce. Working remotely (with occasional office visits) and reporting to the Senior Clinical Director, you’ll play a central role in developing high-quality learning resources, guiding digital education strategy and ensuring our content remains accurate, relevant and clinically robust.
This is a unique opportunity to influence the clinical education landscape, shape digital learning, and enhance the experience of clinicians nationwide. Please note that this is an Inside IR35 day rate contract position; we are looking for someone to work 2 days a week for 12 months.
What you’ll do
As Clinical Education Director, you’ll lead the end-to-end lifecycle of clinical learning content and play a key role in how FourteenFish supports the professional development of healthcare practitioners. Key responsibilities include:
- Owning and driving the clinical content strategy for FourteenFish.
- Working alongside the Digital Education Director to guide the design, delivery and review of digital education.
- Managing the full CPD content creation cycle - defining scope, shaping learning objectives, coordinating partners and ensuring clinical accuracy.
- Ensuring all content is updated in line with NICE guidance and wider changes to national clinical standards.
- Reviewing and maintaining the timeliness, accuracy and quality of education materials.
- Handling clinical queries and supporting customer accounts from a clinical perspective.
- Responding to clinical feedback and implementing content improvements where required.
- Building strong relationships with internal teams (Product, Sales, Marketing, Clinical Safety) and external partners.
Who you’ll be
You’ll be a knowledgeable, confident and collaborative GP with a passion for clinical education and a strong understanding of appraisal and revalidation. You’ll thrive in a role that blends clinical leadership with creativity, digital innovation and relationship-building. We’re looking for someone with:
- MRCGP or FRCGP status and active clinical practice as a UK GP.
- Current GMC registration.
- Experience and ongoing engagement with appraisal and revalidation.
- Excellent broad medical knowledge across general practice.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence, guide and collaborate.
- Experience creating or managing clinical education materials (written or multimedia).
- Confidence producing original clinical content for digital learning platforms.
- A passion for supporting clinicians and improving the professional development experience.
Why this role matters
At FourteenFish, we’re committed to making appraisal and CPD easier, clearer and more valuable for healthcare professionals. Our platform is trusted by GPs, nurses, midwives, paramedics, trainees, appraisers and many others across the UK. In this role, you’ll help shape the content that supports their development, improves their confidence and ultimately enhances the care they deliver.
If you’re a GP who wants to lead meaningful change in clinical education while playing a vital role in shaping a platform used by thousands, we’d love to hear from you.
