The practice offers a wide range of elite and designer branded optical frames and sunglasses, along with the latest high-tech prescription lenses and contact lenses. Applicants will join a team that values professional expertise, high-quality products, and attentive care for every client. Role Description This is a full-time Dispensing Optician position and you will be advising clients on suitable frames, lens options, and coatings, ensuring prescriptions are accurately interpreted and dispensed. Daily responsibilities include fitting and adjusting eyewear, advising about contact lens options, and supporting Optometrists with pre- and post-examination activities. The role involves understanding and explaining eye care recommendations, maintaining accurate patient and sales records, and ensuring a high standard of customer service throughout the client journey. The Optician will help manage inventory, keep the showroom presentable, and contribute to a welcoming and professional environment. Qualifications Strong knowledge of optics, including lens types, frame materials, and fitting techniques. Understanding of optometry and eye exams, with the ability to support clinical processes and interpret prescriptions. Demonstrate customer service and satisfaction skills, with a focus on clear communication and empathy. Relevant professional qualification or certification as a Dispensing Optician (or equivalent), and registration with appropriate regulatory bodies where required. Experience in an independent, boutique-style, retail optical setting, including high-value eyewear dispensing and associated aftercare. Attention to detail, accuracy in measurements, and strong organizational skills. Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and collaborating with a multidisciplinary eye care team. Proficiency with basic computer systems and practice management or point-of-sale software. A willingness to learn, improve, relate to clients and colleagues, plus enjoy your career.
