The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

This role would be perfect for either a strong principal transport planner looking for the opportunity to step up into a new role or for an existing Associate looking for a new opportunity in a rapidly growing company. The bulk of your day will be guiding clients and assisting in project delivery and team management. You will be expected to support existing clients and also the development of new business for the consultancy and help drive further growth. As such, private sector experience is required for the successful candidate. We are looking for a talented individual who can deliver and oversee high-quality technical planning service deliverables from the Bristol or Winchester office, helping build, grow and manage the transport planning team and assisting and work with the wider disciplines at Ridge to continue to build our excellent reputation.

Responsibilities

  • Management and successful delivery of transport planning projects, including day to day management of projects and clients, fee proposals, change control and invoicing.
  • Providing transport planning advice to Ridge colleagues and clients.
  • Responsible for developing excellent client relationships and securing repeat work.
  • Preparation of technical reports and presentations as required in line with company and client requirements as well as national standards, guidance and codes of practice.
  • Working in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design and the delivery of multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary projects.
  • Liaising with the Project Partners and clients to keep informed of all developments associated with the project.
  • Supporting the Transport Planning Partners to develop and grow the team.
  • Overseeing analyses relating to transport planning and design projects including CAD, GIS, transport modelling, spreadsheet and proprietary modelling coding and interrogation.
  • Assisting in the resolution of transport planning technical issues.
  • Document management, including drawing registers, project portals and databases.
  • Monitoring and managing project budgets and programmes.

Qualifications

  • Degree or relevant experience in transport related/numeric subject (e.g., Transport Planning, Mathematics, Geography, Civil Engineering), or equivalent.
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation, Chartered Institute of Logistics or Transport or Transport Planning Society or an equivalent professional organisation.
  • An excellent knowledge of the principles of transport planning including a detailed understanding of policy, relevant design standards, and the requirements of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
  • Relevant experience, including a range of projects across the sectors, preferably within the private sector.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Project.
  • A detailed understanding of TRICS for trip generation, the fundamentals of trip distribution, and assessment skills using Junctions 10 / 11 and LinSig, CAD, road safety engineering, junction design and assessment.
  • Full current driving licence.
