Salary: £9.49 per hour (for a period of 12 months. After this, the hourly rate will increase to National Minimum Wage).
Weekly Working Hours/Study: 32.5 hours total - 24 hours at Options and 6 hours at college, all year round.
Contract Length: July 2026 – December 2027
Purpose
To assist the Financial Controller whilst developing the skills needed to achieve the Level 3 AAT qualification. The apprentice will be based in the Finance Department and will gain experience across a wide variety of tasks, including Treasury and Management Accounts.
Summary of Responsibilities and Duties
The Finance Apprentice will support the day-to-day activities of the Finance Department whilst working towards their Level 3 AAT qualification. Key duties will include:
- Completing regular bank reconciliations for a variety of accounts.
- Processing credit card transactions and reconciliations.
- Managing petty cash transactions, including month-end reconciliations.
- Maintaining records to support management of grants.
- Processing of fundraising transactions and ensuring supporting evidence is documented.
- Carrying out data analysis and assisting with financial reports for management.
- Assisting with the production of monthly management accounts through reviewing and analysing financial information.
- Creating monthly financial reports for budget holders.
- Using finance systems including SAGE 50 Accounts and Payroll, PASS and Factorial.
- Working with the training provider to complete the Level 3 AAT qualification within agreed timescales.
- Attending college and training sessions as required.
