Essential Requirement: Must have completed AAT Level 2 or be awaiting results.

Salary: £9.49 per hour (for a period of 12 months. After this, the hourly rate will increase to National Minimum Wage).

Weekly Working Hours/Study: 32.5 hours total - 24 hours at Options and 6 hours at college, all year round.

Contract Length: July 2026 - December 2027.

Purpose: To assist the Financial Controller whilst developing the skills needed to achieve the Level 3 AAT qualification. The apprentice will be based in the Finance Department and will gain experience across a wide variety of tasks, including Treasury and Management Accounts.

Summary of Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Support the day-to-day activities of the Finance Department whilst working towards their Level 3 AAT qualification.
  • Complete regular bank reconciliations for a variety of accounts.
  • Process credit card transactions and reconciliations.
  • Manage petty cash transactions, including month-end reconciliations.
  • Maintain records to support management of grants.
  • Process fundraising transactions and ensure supporting evidence is documented.
  • Carry out data analysis and assist with financial reports for management.
  • Assist with the production of monthly management accounts through reviewing and analysing financial information.
  • Create monthly financial reports for budget holders.
  • Use finance systems including SAGE 50 Accounts and Payroll, PASS and Factorial.
  • Work with the training provider to complete the Level 3 AAT qualification within agreed timescales.
  • Attend college and training sessions as required.
