The Role
The General Ledger Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial records, preparing and reviewing journal entries, and ensuring that all transactions flow correctly into the general ledger. This will involve reconciling accounts, supporting month‑end and year‑end close processes, and collaborating with teams across the business to resolve discrepancies or improve financial workflows.
We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Experience as a general ledger accountant or similar role within a multinational or technology‑focused organization.
- Strong understanding of GAAP or IFRS, with the ability to apply accounting principles to complex, evolving business models common in the tech sector.
- Proficiency with enterprise‑level ERP systems and comfortable working with large, multi‑source data sets.
- Advanced Excel capabilities and familiarity with modern data tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or basic SQL.
- Experience with multi‑currency accounting, intercompany processes, and global consolidation.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and communicate insights clearly.
- High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional certifications (CPA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred.
- Experience supporting audits, SOX compliance, or internal control frameworks in a global setting.
Typical job duties would include:
- Oversee and maintain the global general ledger across multiple legal entities, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with international accounting standards.
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in alignment with global month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes.
- Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure timely resolution in a fast‑moving environment.
- Support global consolidation activities, including intercompany transactions, eliminations, foreign currency revaluations, and transfer pricing entries.
- Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and internal reporting packages for senior leadership and global stakeholders.
- Prepare and manage external auditor deliverables and work closely with global external audit teams regarding any annual audit requirements.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, ensuring robust governance across global processes.
- Participate in ERP enhancements, automation initiatives, and integration of new systems or acquired entities.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve data quality, and enhance the efficiency of global accounting operations through technology‑driven solutions.
