A respected and long-established M&E contractor in the South East is looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to support continued growth across its mechanical division. We are seeking a technically strong, commercially aware professional who can take ownership of mechanical building-services projects from concept through to completion.

The Role
The Mechanical Project Manager will lead multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the company's high standards. You'll be responsible for planning, procurement, installation oversight, commissioning, and client liaison across a range of mechanical systems including heating, hot water, ventilation, and renewable technologies.
This position suits someone who thrives in a varied workload, enjoys building strong client relationships, and is confident managing both direct labour and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management
- Deliver mechanical projects across domestic and commercial sectors, including heating systems, plant rooms, hot water systems, and HVAC installations.
- Oversee full project lifecycle: planning, scheduling, procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and compliance.
- Team Leadership & Coordination
- Lead mechanical engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Maintain strong communication with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
- Represent the company professionally at progress meetings and site reviews.
- Quality, Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all works meet Gas Safe, BESA, and other relevant industry standards.
- Uphold strict health & safety practices across all sites.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and quality-control records.
What we are looking for
- Essential
- Proven experience managing mechanical building-services projects within an M&E or construction environment.
- Strong technical understanding of heating, hot water, ventilation, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.
- Commercially astute with experience managing budgets and financial reporting.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Desirable
- Experience across both domestic and commercial sectors.
- Knowledge of renewable-energy systems (solar thermal, heat pumps, etc.).
- HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
- SMSTS or similar health & safety qualification.
