About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading Facilities Management company delivering building services across a major university contract in London. They are seeking an experienced Water Hygiene Supervisor / Water Authorised Person to take responsibility for cooling tower compliance, water hygiene operations, and statutory documentation across multiple campus sites.
Responsibilities
- Lead all cooling tower operations, ensuring full statutory compliance.
- Manage PPM and reactive works across water systems via CAFM.
- Ensure cooling towers are sampled, cleaned, disinfected and chemically controlled in line with Written Schemes.
- Review laboratory results and implement corrective actions where required.
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready logbooks and compliance documentation.
- Carry out and supervise Legionella control activities including temperature monitoring, flushing, sampling and disinfection.
- Inspect cold water storage tanks, calorifiers and associated plant.
- Dose and manage closed water systems including on-site testing and optimisation.
- Liaise with specialist contractors, managing permits and RAMS.
- Produce technical reports and support internal and client audits.
- Supervise water hygiene operatives and apprentices.
Candidate Requirements
- Strong background in water hygiene and water treatment within commercial or educational environments.
- Proven experience with cooling tower compliance and Legionella control.
- Experience managing PPM schedules, logbooks and statutory documentation.
- Supervisory experience.
- Client-facing with strong communication skills.
- Organised and able to work effectively under pressure.
