Are you looking to work with one of Bristol's fastest growing companies who manage insurance for disaster recovery and restoration? Options Resourcing is looking for an energetic Reinstatement Surveyor to oversee the reinstatement of properties following major damage events. You will ensure all works are completed to pre-loss condition in accordance with relevant building regulations. The role will involve handling multiple concurrent projects typically valued between £5k-£100k requiring strong project management, technical expertise and a proactive approach.
Key responsibilities:
- Damage assessment and production of detailed reinstatement scope of works.
- Prepare accurate costed specifications and schedules of work, identifying cost saving opportunities, material substitutions or repair alternatives while ensuring quality outcomes.
- Present cost and value at various stages of the process.
- Manage high caseload which are often at various stages of the process.
- Conduct desk-based health and safety risk assessments and produce draft method statements to support reinstatement works, subject to on site validation.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and insurance-related requirements, including building regulations and planning.
- Liaise with clients and contractors to validate scope and coordinate approvals.
- Conduct interim and final inspections to validate works and ensure the reinstatement meets required standards.
- Support continuous process improvement and maintain high standards of service delivery.
- Ensure all work complies with internal policies and service level agreements (SLAs).
Required Skills & Experience:
- Understanding cost and value in the insurance repair market.
- Sound knowledge of UK building regulations, construction techniques and insurance reinstatement standards.
- Proven experience in reinstatement surveying.
- Familiarity with claims management systems and remote assessment tools.
- Energetic, dynamic and highly organised with the ability to manage multiple concurrent reinstatement projects in the £5k-£100k range.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Capable of balancing quality, cost, and client service in a fast paced environment.
- Confident decision-maker with a solutions-focused mindset.
Qualifications:
- Degree, HND, or equivalent in Building Surveying, Construction management or related discipline.
- Chartered or associate member with RICS, CIOB or equivalent body.
- Familiarity with estimating tools and survey platforms (Xactimate, BCIS).
- Full UK Driving licence.
