Salary: £45,000
Hours: 07:00-16:00 or 08:00-17:00

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established facilities team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining electrical systems across a large and busy site, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation at all times.
This role focuses heavily on lighting maintenance, including re-lamping, replacing fittings, carrying out installations, and upgrading existing systems to LED technologies. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting electrical faults, performing repairs, and ensuring all electrical work is completed safely and to industry standards.
This position requires someone who places a strong emphasis on safety, demonstrates excellent problem-solving abilities, and has hands-on experience working with a range of electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities

Execute electrical installation, repair, and maintenance tasks, particularly related to lighting systems.

Install electrical apparatus, fixtures, and associated equipment.

Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks, ensuring correct compatibility of components.

Prepare, assemble, and install conduits and route wiring through them.

Conduct routine inspections to prevent system breakdowns, including replacing old wiring, cleaning circuits, and maintaining insulated cables.

Troubleshoot electrical hazards or malfunctions and repair or replace damaged units efficiently.

Complete documentation and reports related to electrical works.

Carry out additional tasks that do not require specific specialist training as needed.
Requirements
- UK Driving Licence

Apprentice-trained (electrotechnical) or NVQ-qualified.

Proven experience working as an electrician or electrical maintenance engineer.

Ability to use electrical tools, hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and interpret electrical drawings/blueprints.

Strong knowledge of safety procedures, industry regulations, and compliance requirements.

Excellent diagnostic, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Physically fit and able to work across a large site.

Valid professional electrical qualification/license.

Ability to use electronic devices and complete clear written reports.
