A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Joinery Estimator to join an established and growing specialist joinery and fit-out business in Leicester. This is an ideal opportunity for a school leaver, apprentice, junior joiner or trainee looking to build a long-term career in Joinery Estimating, Construction Estimating and Commercial Fit Out. Full training will be provided, including joinery manufacturing, estimating, tendering and first-principles estimating, with ongoing support and mentoring from an experienced Estimating Manager and wider commercial team.
Trainee Joinery Estimator - The Role
Working alongside the Estimating Manager and experienced Joinery Estimators, you will learn how to prepare accurate and competitive tenders for bespoke joinery and door supply and installation packages. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Joinery Estimating team with tenders and quotations.
- Learning first-principles estimating.
- Reviewing tender documents, drawings and specifications.
- Assisting with quantity take-offs and project costings.
- Developing knowledge of joinery manufacturing and installation.
- Learning how to calculate labour, material and manufacturing costs.
- Assisting with supplier and subcontractor enquiries.
- Using estimating and take-off software including Eque2 and Bluebeam.
- Checking tender documentation and identifying discrepancies.
- Working closely with Design, Production, Commercial and Estimating teams.
- Developing an understanding of bespoke joinery and high-end fit-out.
About You
The successful Trainee Joinery Estimator will ideally have:
- A genuine interest in joinery, construction, manufacturing or estimating.
- Strong numerical and analytical ability.
