A well-established precision engineering manufacturer is seeking an experienced CNC Setter / Operator to join their growing machine shop team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer with strong HAAS and 5 Axis machining experience to work within a high-quality manufacturing environment.

  • Flexible start times available (6:30am, 7:30am or 8:30am) with an early finish every Friday.
  • 36.5 hours per week

The Role

You will be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machines to produce precision-engineered components to drawing specifications, ensuring quality standards and production deadlines are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting and operating HAAS 3 Axis and 5 Axis CNC milling machines
  • Setting tooling and workholding for production jobs
  • Producing components to engineering drawings and quality standards
  • Making program adjustments where required
  • Changing over jobs, tooling and materials efficiently
  • Deburring and cleaning machined components ready for inspection
  • Working to production schedules and meeting delivery deadlines
  • Supporting continuous improvement in machining processes and efficiency
  • Assisting with tooling, stock control and material management
  • Completing production paperwork and maintaining accurate records
  • Maintaining high housekeeping and health & safety standards

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in a similar CNC machining role
  • Strong experience with HAAS and/or Fanuc controls
  • Proven background in 5 Axis machining
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience machining Aluminium, Mild Steel and Stainless Steel
  • Experience using cavity and custom form tools
  • Good understanding of quality procedures and inspection processes
  • Able to work independently and as part of a small team
  • Organised, methodical and proactive approach to work
  • Experience quoting machining times and component costing
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 quality standards
  • HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or similar qualification
