An established and growing building services consultancy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to join their collaborative design team. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a range of office fit-out projects, typically valued between £100k and £1m, across both CAT A and CAT B schemes. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality mechanical designs from concept through to completion, working both independently and alongside senior leadership on more complex projects.
The Role
- Lead mechanical design on office fit-out projects from concept to handover
- Manage your own portfolio of projects, including client coordination
- Support senior design leadership on larger or technically complex schemes
- Produce detailed drawings and designs using AutoCAD and Revit
- Carry out heat loss and heat gain calculations using TAS and Hevacomp
- Attend design and coordination meetings with internal teams, clients, and contractors
- Ensure compliance with UK building regulations and industry standards
- Contribute to value engineering and design optimisation
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members
About You
- Ideally a minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical building services design
- Proven track record delivering office fit-out projects (CAT A & CAT B)
- Strong AutoCAD skills
- Working knowledge of Revit (desirable)
- Experience using TAS and Hevacomp
- Able to manage multiple projects independently
- Strong communication and coordination skills
