An established and growing business within the specialist manufacturing and construction sector is looking to appoint an experienced Accounts professional to take ownership of the full accounts function. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being trusted with end-to-end responsibility from day-to-day finance through to profit & loss reporting and statutory submissions. You will work closely with senior leadership, providing accurate financial insight to support business decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Managing the full accounts function from start to finish
- Preparation and ownership of monthly and annual P&L accounts
- Statutory submissions, including VAT returns and year-end reporting
- Managing purchase and sales ledgers, bank reconciliations, and cashflow
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
- Liaising with external accountants, auditors, and HMRC
- Maintaining accurate financial records and improving processes where possible
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a hands-on accounts role within an SME environment
- Strong understanding of P&L preparation and financial reporting
- Experience handling VAT returns and statutory submissions
- Comfortable working independently and managing deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and a practical, solutions-focused approach
- Experience within manufacturing or construction is advantageous but not essential
