If you're a Senior/Principal Electrical Engineer who has reached the point where you want more influence, more ownership and a team of your own, this could be one worth having a conversation about.
We’re representing a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy that is looking to appoint a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead a team of around 3–4 engineers/designers and take technical ownership of a portfolio of high-profile projects. This isn't a role where you'll simply be reviewing drawings and attending meetings.
You’ll be doing the good stuff:
- Lead and develop a team of 3–4 Electrical Engineers & Designers
- Take technical ownership of major projects
- Lead electrical design from RIBA 1–7
- Be the senior technical voice with clients
- Influence design strategy and engineering solutions
- Coordinate with Mechanical, Structural & Architectural teams
- Mentor and develop the next generation of engineers
- Support bids, tenders and business development
- Help shape the continued growth of the electrical team
The Projects? Think complex, technically challenging schemes rather than repetitive work.
- Healthcare
- Data Centres / Mission Critical
- Commercial & Workplace
- Education
- Residential & High-Rise
- Industrial & Manufacturing
- Public Sector
Who are we looking for? You could currently be a Senior Electrical Engineer looking for that first Principal opportunity or Principal/Associate Engineer ready for a bigger platform. You'll need strong UK Building Services experience, excellent electrical design knowledge and, importantly, the ability to lead people as well as projects. CEng / MCIBSE would be advantageous, alongside experience with Revit, AutoCAD and electrical calculation/design software.
Why this role? Because you're not just being brought in to fill a seat. You'll have the opportunity to build a team, influence projects, develop clients and have a genuine say in how the electrical discipline moves forward. If you're open to hearing what's out there — even if you're not actively looking — drop me a message. All conversations are completely confidential.
