We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager / Quality Manager (QM SQEP) to lead and oversee mechanical installation works at a metal refinery plant in Royston. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on the installation of:
- Chilled pipework
- PVDF plastic pipework
- LTHW pipework
You will be responsible for managing the mechanical scope of works, ensuring quality compliance, and producing key documentation including Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Quality Plans (QPs), and Weld Procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage mechanical installation activities on-site.
- Develop and maintain ITPs, QPs, and weld procedures in line with project and industry standards.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental protocols.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Conduct inspections and audits to ensure quality assurance.
- Report progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Proven experience in industrial or pharmaceutical environments.
- Strong background in mechanical project management and quality assurance.
- Familiarity with chilled water systems, PVDF piping, and LTHW systems.
- Ability to produce and manage ITPs, QPs, and weld documentation.
- SQEP (Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person) status or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
