A well-established engineering manufacturer, recognised for its high-quality hydraulic and fluid power systems, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their close-knit design team. This is a great opportunity to work on innovative hydraulic manifold and valve system designs within a forward-thinking and technically focused environment.

The Role
Reporting to the Design Manager, you will be responsible for the full design process - from concept through to production - ensuring solutions meet both customer and internal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop design concepts and detailed engineering drawings for hydraulic manifold systems.
- Liaise with customers and suppliers to ensure designs meet project and performance requirements.
- Prepare technical calculations, costings, and project documentation.
- Source and manage suppliers, supporting quotations and manufacturing processes.
- Maintain control of drawing issues, revisions, and records.
- Support the inspection, testing, and continual improvement of hydraulic products.
Skills/experience required:
- Proven experience in a Design Engineer role, ideally within the hydraulics, mechanical, or fluid power sectors.
- Skilled in SolidWorks, DWG Editor, or DraftSight.
- Strong understanding of materials, machining, plating, and fluid power principles.
- Methodical, organised, and capable of managing multiple design projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Qualifications:
- HNC/HND (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Hydraulic Systems knowledge (Stage 1 & 2 or similar) is advantageous.
