Options Resourcing are recruiting on behalf of a highly successful and expanding building services contractor seeking an experienced M&E Supervisor to join their project delivery team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a driven and hands-on M&E professional to take ownership of site activities on complex mechanical and electrical projects. You'll be at the heart of project delivery, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, on programme, and to the highest quality standards.

The Role

As an M&E Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of mechanical and electrical installations across construction projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications, building regulations, quality standards, and health & safety requirements. Working closely with project managers, consultants, subcontractors, and site teams, you'll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered successfully from installation through to testing, commissioning, and handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all M&E installation activities on site.
  • Manage subcontractors and site operatives to ensure works are completed safely and efficiently.
  • Liaise with consultants, principal contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor construction programmes and drive progress to ensure key milestones and completion dates are achieved.
  • Ensure all installations comply with project specifications, approved drawings, contractual requirements, and industry standards.
  • Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to identify potential clashes and coordination issues before they impact delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of project progress, drawing revisions, technical submissions, approvals, and site documentation.
  • Oversee testing and commissioning activities, ensuring systems meet performance and operational requirements.
  • Attend site coordination meetings and assist in resolving technical and construction-related challenges.
  • Conduct inspections, quality checks, and snagging reviews to maintain exceptional delivery standards.
  • Coordinate temporary site utilities and infrastructure requirements.
  • Review subcontractor progress and assist with the verification of valuations and payment applications.
  • Ensure all works are delivered in line with health, safety, environmental, and quality management standards.
  • Monitor compliance with approved designs, statutory requirements, and regulatory obligations.
  • Maintain project documentation in accordance with company procedures and quality management systems.
  • Support project completion, client handovers, and close-out activities.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience supervising M&E works on construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services installations.
  • Experience working on commercial, industrial, healthcare, residential, infrastructure, or mission-critical developments.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
  • Excellent organisational and coordination skills.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety procedures and quality assurance processes.
  • Confidence managing subcontractors and multiple workstreams on site.
  • Effective communicator with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office and construction management software.

Desirable

  • CSCS Card.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS certification.
  • First Aid qualification.
  • Experience with BIM, AutoCAD, or Revit.
  • Previous involvement in large-scale or technically challenging M&E projects.
