Options Resourcing are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing Fire & Security business for an experienced Fire & Security Installation Engineer to join their expanding engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer with experience across fire alarms, CCTV, intruder alarms, access control, and emergency lighting systems to join a reputable company offering long-term career development, ongoing training, and excellent earning potential through overtime and call-out payments. The majority of works are based across London and the Home Counties, with occasional travel further afield when required.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of fire and security systems across commercial, industrial, and residential environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation and repair of:
    • Fire alarm systems
    • Intruder alarm systems
    • CCTV systems
    • Access control systems
    • Emergency lighting
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs
  • Commissioning new fire and security systems
  • Ensuring compliance with BS 5839, BS 5266, NSI, FIA, and relevant industry standards
  • Completing all required documentation including certificates and service records
  • Providing technical support and advice to customers
  • Participating in the on-call rota
  • Maintaining company equipment, tools, and vehicle
  • Working in accordance with health & safety procedures

Requirements

  • Proven experience installing and servicing fire and security systems
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of relevant fire and security regulations and standards
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • FIA training qualifications
  • Electrical qualifications (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds)
  • Experience with systems including: Gent, Advanced, Kentec, Morley, Honeywell, Texecom, Hikvision, Paxton
  • Knowledge of IP-based systems and networking
  • IPAF certification

Working Hours

Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm

Call-Out & Overtime

  • Standby payments: £25 per weekday night, £50 per weekend day, £100 Bank Holidays
  • Door-to-door payment for out-of-hours call-outs
  • Overtime paid at: Time and a half Monday-Saturday, Double time Sundays & Bank Holidays

Travel & Subsistence

Occasional UK travel may be required. When working away: £100 net subsistence per night, Premier Inn accommodation provided, Breakfast included.

Holiday

20 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing annually up to 25 days.
