A specialist joinery and fit-out business in Leicester is looking to recruit an experienced Joinery Estimator / Fit Out Estimator to join its growing estimating team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimator with a background in bespoke joinery, architectural joinery, specialist joinery, shopfitting or commercial fit out. The successful Joinery Estimator will work closely with the Estimating Manager, Commercial, Production and Design teams to prepare accurate and competitive tenders for high-quality joinery and fit-out projects.

Joinery Estimator - The Role

  • Preparing competitive estimates for bespoke joinery and door supply and installation.
  • Producing tenders using first-principles estimating.
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
  • Completing accurate quantity take-offs and cost analysis.
  • Estimating labour, materials, manufacturing and installation costs.
  • Using Eque2 and Bluebeam for estimating and take-off.
  • Liaising with clients and design teams throughout the tender process.
  • Preparing subcontractor and supplier enquiries.
  • Reviewing and appraising supplier and subcontractor quotations.
  • Producing subcontract and material packages.
  • Calculating preliminary costs.
  • Identifying value engineering opportunities.
  • Identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Attending tender adjudication meetings.
  • Supporting the successful handover of projects from tender to delivery.

Joinery Estimator - Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Joinery Estimator, Fit Out Estimator or Estimator.
  • Experience within joinery manufacturing.
  • Good knowledge of joinery manufacturing and installation processes.
  • Proven experience in first-principles estimating.
  • Experience within CAT A / CAT B commercial fit out.
  • Experience with bespoke or architectural joinery.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good commercial awareness.
  • Experience dealing with suppliers, subcontractors, clients and design teams.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
  • Eque2 and/or Bluebeam experience would be advantageous.
  • Candidates from specialist joinery contractors, joinery manufacturers, shopfitters, fit-out contractors and high-end interiors businesses are encouraged to apply.
