We are currently recruiting for an experienced Installation / Service Engineer to join a growing Fire & Security business based in Buckingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer with a strong background in Fire & Security systems who is looking for a long-term position with a company that offers development, training and career progression.
The Role
As an Installation / Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, testing, commissioning and servicing a range of fire and security systems. The role will be predominantly installation-based, although some service work may be required depending on workload.
Key Responsibilities
- Install fire and security systems
- Install cabling and containment in accordance with BS7671
- Programme and test newly installed devices
- Complete installation and commissioning documentation
- Carry out service work when required
- Liaise professionally with customers and other contractors
- Maintain company tools, equipment and vehicle stock
- Report faults, failures or deficiencies to your line manager
- Maintain accurate monthly timesheets
- Attend training courses when required
- Supervise and mentor trainee engineers when required
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company Health & Safety procedures
- Represent the company professionally and courteously at all times
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience installing Fire & Security systems
- Strong understanding of electrical installation principles
- Knowledge of BS7671
- Experience with cabling and containment
- Experience programming, testing and commissioning systems
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Good customer-facing and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A professional approach to work
- Full UK Driving Licence
