Energy & Sustainability Consultant Location: Leeds Employment: Full-Time | Permanent Hours: 40 hours per week Salary: £48,000 - £55,000 I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Energy & Sustainability Consultant to join an established Building Services Consultancy, with opportunities available across their Leeds office. This is a great opportunity for a technically strong sustainability professional with experience across energy modelling, thermal performance and sustainability consultancy within the built environment. The Opportunity You'll provide technical energy and sustainability advice to clients and internal teams, working as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside Building Services Designers, Revit Technicians, Building Physicists and Document Controllers. The role will involve working across a variety of sectors and project stages, providing practical sustainability advice and helping clients deliver more energy-efficient and sustainable buildings. Key Responsibilities Prepare clear, actionable energy and sustainability reports with tailored recommendations. Collaborate with architects, engineers and stakeholders to embed energy-efficient design throughout project development. Lead client and design team workshops, communicating technical information and sustainability strategies. Deliver and oversee technical modelling and analysis, including: Embodied carbon calculations Circular economy opportunities Building performance simulations Operational energy assessments On-site energy generation evaluations Overheating and thermal comfort risk assessments Develop and deliver integrated sustainability and energy strategies from early design through to completion. Manage environmental assessments including BREEAM, WELL and DREAM. Produce BREEAM Indoor Air Quality Plans and Building User Guides. Prepare fee proposals, manage budgets and support invoicing processes. Champion net-zero and whole-life carbon approaches across project portfolios. Contribute to internal research and innovation. Keep up to date with industry regulations, trends and best practice in building performance and sustainability. Skills & Experience The ideal candidate will have: A degree in Building Services Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Science or a related discipline. Strong experience with BREEAM, OneClick and IES software. Demonstrable experience delivering energy assessments and sustainability consultancy across different building types. Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations, particularly Part L and other energy-related standards. Experience with building physics, thermal comfort modelling and low-energy design. BREEAM Assessor, CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant or similar qualifications would be highly desirable. Strong analytical, project management and organisational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. A collaborative, proactive and solutions-focused approach.
