We are currently recruiting for an experienced Plumber / Commercial Plumbing Engineer to join a well-established building services contractor working within a secure defence environment in the South West. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team delivering essential mechanical and plumbing works on long-term contracts within highly regulated and secure sites.
The Role
- You will be primarily responsible for heating and plumbing system upgrades, including:
- Strip out of existing heating and hot water systems
- Installation of complete new systems
- Installation of radiators, valves, pipework, and associated control systems
- Working from drawings, specifications, and site requirements
- Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
- Compliance with company Health & Safety procedures, Safe Systems of Work, and current regulations
- Working both independently and as part of a wider site team
The role requires a calm, organised, and adaptable approach, particularly when working under pressure or within secure environments.

Candidate Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing / Heating or equivalent apprenticeship (or strong trade background)
- Experience in commercial plumbing, heating, or HVAC installation/maintenance
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety and safe working practices
- Full UK driving licence
- Gas qualifications are desirable but not essential
- Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to work
- Ability to work independently and within a team
