Immediate Opportunity for an Experienced Site Manager
We are a well-established and respected construction contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects safely, professionally and on programme. Due to planned holiday cover, we are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee an exciting live construction project in Caerphilly.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and organised Site Manager who is confident managing live sites and maintaining momentum on fast-paced construction projects.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing a 24-bedroom timber frame extension to a live hotel, ensuring the project continues to progress safely, efficiently and in line with the construction programme during a period of planned management cover. The timber frame installation is already underway, so your focus will be on maintaining progress, ensuring health and safety compliance, coordinating site activities and supporting a smooth handover throughout the cover period. Cover will be required for handover on Thursday and/or Friday this week, followed by all of next week.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the construction site.
- Maintain the project programme and ensure works remain on schedule.
- Enforce and monitor health and safety standards at all times.
- Coordinate subcontractors and site activities efficiently.
- Carry out regular site inspections and quality checks.
- Liaise with the project team to ensure a seamless management transition.
- Maintain a safe, productive and well-organised site environment.
Essential Requirements
- Applicants must have: SMSTS Certificate
- Valid CSCS Card
- First Aid at Work Certificate
- Previous experience managing timber frame construction projects
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
- Experience working on live construction sites is highly desirable
