A leading engineering firm based in Leicester is seeking a talented and detail-oriented CAD Engineer to join their established design and engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, preparing both code-compliant and bespoke design solutions across ducting, steelwork, and attenuation systems. The successful candidate will collaborate with clients, internal departments, and external service providers, ensuring all technical drawings and documentation meet the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage design drawings based on client specifications and project requirements.
- Produce bespoke drawings and layouts for ducting, steelwork, attenuation, and associated components.
- Attend site meetings, appraisals, and on-site measurements when required.
- Liaise with CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) service providers.
- Prepare component lists to assist with project estimation and costing.
- Support the engineering control system through drawing reviews and revision history updates.
- Provide technical product information and assist in preparing marketing and support materials.
Qualifications and Skills
Essential
- Proficient in AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
- Strong technical understanding of mechanical or building services design.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Preferred
- Experience using 3D AutoCAD.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
