The Role

As a CNC Milling Machinist, you'll be responsible for programming, setting and operating a range of precision manufacturing equipment, ensuring components are produced accurately and efficiently while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Benefits:

  • Salary up to £34,000 DOE + Overtime available
  • Location: Birmingham within the clean air zone
  • Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:00am - 4:00pm, Friday 7:00am - 12:00pm
  • Permanent role

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate 3, 4 & 5-axis CNC milling machines
  • Programme, set and operate Wire EDM (Wire Erosion) and Sinker EDM (Spark Erosion) machines
  • Manufacture precision components to tight tolerances and high-quality surface finishes
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models and technical specifications
  • Select appropriate tooling, fixtures and machining methods
  • Carry out in-process inspection using precision measuring equipment
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and basic fault finding
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure production deadlines are achieved
  • Maintain high standards of quality, safety and housekeeping

Skills/Experience:

Essential:

  • Wire EDM / Wire Erosion
  • Sinker EDM / Spark Erosion
  • Multi-axis CNC milling
  • Precision engineering and tight tolerance machining
  • Reading engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Using micrometers, verniers, gauges and other measuring equipment

Desirable:

  • Engineering apprenticeship or relevant machining qualification
  • Experience within aerospace, tooling, mould, die or medical manufacturing
  • Fusion 360 or similar CAD/CAM software
  • Fanuc, Heidenhain or Siemens controls
