Are you an experienced Access Control Engineer looking for your next challenge? We're recruiting on behalf of a growing specialist security systems company looking to add an experienced Installation Engineer / Access Control Engineer to their projects team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of commercial, healthcare, education, industrial and high-profile construction projects across the UK.

If you have experience installing access control systems, CCTV, door entry or integrated electronic security systems and enjoy delivering quality installations, we’d love to hear from you.

As an Access Control Engineer, you’ll be responsible for installing, commissioning and testing a wide range of electronic security systems. You’ll work both independently and alongside project teams to ensure installations are completed safely, professionally and to the highest standard. Projects are varied, offering plenty of opportunity to expand your technical knowledge while working with modern security technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Installation and commissioning of access control systems.
  • Installation of electronic locking devices, readers, controllers and associated equipment.
  • Installation of door entry and intercom systems.
  • Installation and commissioning of IP CCTV systems.
  • Running, terminating and testing security cabling and containment.
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Fault finding and resolving installation issues.
  • Completing commissioning documentation and handover paperwork.
  • Liaising with site managers, project managers and other trades on site.
  • Delivering high-quality installations while maintaining excellent customer service.

  • Reading electrical drawings and technical specifications

Experience with any of the following would be highly advantageous:

  • Automatic doors
  • Network/IP based security systems

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an Access Control Engineer or Installation Engineer
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Strong fault-finding and installation skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Willingness to travel and stay away when required
  • ECS/CSCS, IPAF or PASMA cards are advantageous but not essential
