We are recruiting a Python Desk Developer for a major energy trader (£400bn T/O). The role is focused on the Power business and will involve working closely with Traders, Risk Managers and Software Engineers. The brief is to help transform the existing applications landscape and deliver solutions to the Power team.

The Role

  • Rapid Prototyping - Creating Solutions in the fast paced world of power trading
  • Project Management - Business Analysis, Development and full-lifecycle delivery
  • Platform Integration - understanding the applications landscape and leveraging existing solutions as well as developing new applications

Qualifications

  • Relevant university degree (Computer Science)
  • 3+ years of fullstack Python (ORM and API) frameworks
  • 3+ years of Typescript React development experience
  • Experience using Python libraries such as Fast API, SQL Alchemy and Pydantic
  • Experience in building, maintaining and optimizing relational SQL databases
  • Rapid dashboard development (Streamlit, Plotly Dash, React) and experience presenting complex data visually
  • Drive to stay up to date with changes in the Python and Typescript React landscape
  • Desire to work with front office users daily and be a core part of the business operation
