Overview

Options for Care is looking to recruit a Senior Assistant Psychologist (2-year Fixed Term) passionate about working with individuals with severe and enduring mental health diagnoses.

The role is based at Dartmouth House, a 16-bed male long-term complex care mental health inpatient unit in Handsworth Wood, Birmingham.

The organisation also operates Montague Court (18-bed male long-term complex care inpatient unit in Edgbaston) and Stanford Court (23-bed male mental health inpatient unit in Highgate), with Orchard House serving as a recovery home for people on their journey to mental health recovery.

We are seeking a Senior Assistant Psychologist who will have the opportunity to work independently, under supervision, and take on significant responsibilities.

You will work closely within the multidisciplinary team.

The primary objective is to enhance the psychological care of service users with complex mental health and behavioural needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychological assessment, formulation and intervention under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist.
  • Carry out administrative tasks related to clinical work, such as conducting audits, collecting statistics, and producing reports.
  • Support the development, delivery, and evaluation of staff training initiatives.
  • Ensure all work is performed within the organisation\'s policies and procedures and aligns with the mission, vision and values.
  • Collaborate within the multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centred, evidence-based care and contribute to planning and discharge processes.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Experience in psychological assessment, formulation and intervention under supervision.
  • Ability to work independently when appropriate and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience with audits, data collection, and reporting related to clinical work.
  • Willingness to contribute to staff training and development initiatives.
