Optio’s Transactional Liability team are specialists in W&I insurance for the small to mid‑market, focusing on transactions with EVs up to GBP/EUR 250m. Optio have a proven track record for both innovation and first‑class service levels and, with a wealth of experience across a number of jurisdictions and sectors, its offering has become an essential tool for deal professionals operating in the small to mid‑market space. We are looking for an experienced M&A professional to join our growing team based in London. As a member of the transactional liability team, you will handle a variety of workstreams in a fast‑paced and highly collaborative environment. The role will be very hands‑on and you will be given the opportunity to take ownership of your work from an early stage.
As part of the role you will be expected to:
- Evaluate, quote and underwrite risks from submission through to inception, in accordance with underwriting guidelines and practices
- Proactively nurture and build relationships with brokers, advisors and clients
- Actively contribute to the team’s underwriting, growth and business development strategies
- Contribute to the continual development of Optio’s W&I insurance product
You will be joining a lean team of five and so opportunities for responsibility, development and growth are considerable.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2-3 years in transactional risk insurance or corporate finance experience
- Strong analytical and evaluation skills relevant to underwriting and risk assessment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to maintain client and broker relationships
- Strong ability to multi‑task and prioritise conflicting tasks to meet relevant timetables
- Proficiency in data interpretation and financial analysis
- Attention to detail with strong organisational and multitasking abilities
- Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, law, or a related field is preferred
