We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to oversee and continuously improve H&S performance across UK sites. This is a mobile role, requiring regular travel to Braintree, Brierley Hill, Bury St Edmunds, Lympne, Newark and Wrexham, supporting site teams, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with legislation and company standards. You will act as the key point of contact for all H&S matters, driving a proactive safety culture and providing practical, hands-on guidance to operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and develop the Health & Safety function across all UK sites
- Conduct regular site audits, inspections and risk assessments
- Ensure compliance with UK H&S legislation, industry standards and internal policies
- Support site managers with incident investigations, reporting and corrective actions
- Deliver toolbox talks, training sessions and safety briefings
- Maintain and update H&S documentation, policies and procedures
- Analyse trends and produce monthly reports for senior leadership
- Champion a positive safety culture and promote continuous improvement
- Liaise with external bodies, insurers, auditors and regulatory authorities
- Provide guidance on safe systems of work, RAMS and operational controls
Essential Requirements
- NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum) – Diploma desirable
- Proven experience in a Health & Safety role within logistics, warehousing, transport, manufacturing or similar operational environments
- Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation and best practice
- Confident conducting audits, investigations and training
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
