Are you an Automation Engineer with experience in PLCs, robotics and automated manufacturing? We're working with a well established engineering manufacturer in Northampton looking to strengthen its automation capability. This is a hands on role where you'll work closely with Production, Maintenance and Engineering teams to support automated equipment, troubleshoot and improve manufacturing processes, and support automation and continuous improvement projects across the plant.
How will you make a difference?
- Support and improve automated manufacturing equipment, robotics and PLC controlled systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve automation and production issues
- Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and automation projects
- Maintain automation documentation and technical records
- Work with suppliers and integrators on upgrades and improvements
- Drive continuous improvement to improve safety, reliability and manufacturing performance
What do we want to know about you?
- Experience within an Automation, Controls or Manufacturing Engineering role
- Strong knowledge of PLC controlled equipment and automation systems
- Experience with robotics, sensors, motion control or automated manufacturing technology
- Able to read electrical schematics and technical documentation
- Hands on problem solving and fault finding skills
- Engineering qualification or equivalent experience
- Lean Manufacturing / continuous improvement exposure beneficial
