Salary: £26,000 to £32,000 per annum
Job Purpose: Optimum Skills, a growing training provider with centres in the North East of England, delivers outstanding Apprenticeships, Traineeships, Pre-employment, and Commercial Training. We seek experienced construction tutors to deliver traineeships/short courses from our Construction Academy in Gateshead.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effective Delivery: Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching and assessment across various environments, utilising diverse methodologies to meet learners' needs, fostering an inclusive environment.
- Curriculum Development: Collaborate to tailor and enhance apprenticeship curricula, ensuring industry relevance and high-quality learning materials.
- KPI Achievement: Meet or exceed KPIs related to learner progression, retention, achievement, satisfaction, and compliance.
- Learner Support: Provide personalised advice and support, addressing individual learning needs and career goals.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Constructive Feedback: Offer regular feedback to support learner development.
- Equality and Diversity: Promote an inclusive learning environment.
- Safeguarding: Manage learner welfare and report incidents per protocols.
- Career Guidance: Provide advice to motivate learners and enhance opportunities.
- CPD: Engage in professional development to stay current with industry trends.
- Teamwork: Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Undertake tasks supporting the organisation's growth.
Qualifications, Competence & Behaviours:
- Occupational competence in construction
- Teaching/tutoring qualification or willingness to work toward
- Relevant teaching qualifications (e.g., PTLLS, PGCE, Cert Ed)
- Assessing qualifications (e.g., CAVA)
- Level 2 Functional Skills (English, maths, ICT) or equivalent
- Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office
- Experience in training and/or assessing in educational or workplace settings
- Behaviours aligned with Company Values
- Commitment to CPD
- Willingness to undertake a DBS Enhanced Disclosure
- Satisfactory references
