Financial Controller in York

Optimum Recruitment Group is working exclusively with a leading manufacturing business based just outside Leeds. Our client is looking for a qualified accountant who has trained within practice and spent time developing their accounting experience within industry, preferably manufacturing.

Reporting to the CFO, you will oversee the department, manage a team of 4, control the cash flow along with the production of both financial and management accounts. You will also have involvement in the budgeting and forecasting process for the business.

Key accountabilities

• Full management accounts preparation
• Budgeting/forecasting
• Cash flow forecasting
• Review & commentary of variances
• Working capital management
• Product costing and cost management
• Training and developing team members
• Liaising with external auditors and assisting in all aspects of year end reporting
• Making recommendations for continuous improvement, constantly striving to improve efficiencies
• Highlighting any areas for improvement in relation to internal systems/processes

The successful candidate must have the following skills and experience:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
• Ideally a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience
• Knowledge of the whole financial workflow, and have ability to support xwzovoh any position to cover
• Advanced excel skills
