Optimum Recruitment Group have been appointed on an exclusive basis to recruit an Accounts Assistant for our successful growth client based in Leeds.

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day transactional finance activity as well as assisting with all duties relating to financial and business reporting.

This role would suit either a recent graduate, an experienced accounts administrator or someone in the early stages of accountancy study who is happy to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in with what tasks are required.

Your key responsibilities will include

  • Accounts payable - processing supplier invoices including preparing payments and requesting supplier statements if required.
  • Accounts receivable - producing customer invoices and monitoring payments to ensure payment to terms.
  • Preparing supplier reports showing return amounts and any amounts claimed for quality losses.
  • Review and interrogate customer commission reports to ensure customer invoicing is correct and capturing all PO’s.
  • Assist with monthly financial management reporting for both the UK and Italian entities.
  • Work with the relevant stakeholders to prepare a monthly P&L forecast for both the UK and Italian entities.
  • Prepare VAT returns for submission on a quarterly basis.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations on a quarterly basis.
  • HR / IT administrative duties as required.
  • Ad hoc duties as required.
  • You must be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:
  • Fluent Italian – this is an absolute pre-requisite.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with high accuracy and numeracy.
  • Clear, confident communication – written and verbal.
  • Great organisational skills and ability to juggle multiple tasks.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and hunger to learn.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaborating with others.

Salary c£30,000 (depending on skills and experience) plus benefits. Full time office based role
