Optimum Recruitment Group are proud to be working with this well-established business based in Wakefield, who are recruiting an experienced and hands-on Financial Controller. You will ideally be a fully qualified accountant with experience of managing a small team, to deliver the end-to-end accounting responsibility for the business. Responsibility for all financial and management accounting processes would fall into your remit. Reporting to the CFO, you will take responsibility for:
- Cashflow forecasting on a daily basis, including management of invoice discounting facility and bank accounts (including foreign currency).
- Reviewing and approving supplier and other payments.
- Reviewing and overseeing HMRC requirements including VAT.
- Overseeing and reviewing monthly management accounts and finalisation of monthly MI packs.
- Regular reviewing of the balance sheet including any provisions.
- Monthly stock accounting - maintenance & reviewing of stock, reports and valuations.
- Assisting with budget preparation and reporting against actual expenditure.
- Overseeing and reviewing 4 weekly/monthly payroll.
- Assisting with developing and maintaining internal audit processes and procedures.
- Liaising with external auditors as and when required.
- Liaising with key external stakeholders, including suppliers & customers.
- Dealing with complex or time-sensitive queries from suppliers.
