Optimum Recruitment Group are proud to be working with a well established and successful growth business based in central York, who are looking to appoint a Senior Management Accountant to the team.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will play a critical role in delivering fast, accurate and insightful financial information that enables confident decision-making at pace. You will work closely with their US teams, helping to build a one team approach across borders. This role requires agility, strong problem-solving skills and a solutions-focused mindset to support a rapidly scaling business.
Your accountabilities will be to:
- Take ownership of monthly US management accounts and year-end financial statements, delivering accurate and timely financial performance insight.
- Ensuring full compliance with US tax, audit and regulatory obligations.
- Contributing to group financial reporting, including consolidations and statutory audit.
- Providing high-quality financial analysis and commentary to support strategic decision-making.
- Driving continuous improvement in finance processes to support scaling and efficiency.
- Building collaborative relationships across UK and US teams to support a one-team finance function.
You need to be able to demonstrate the following key skills and experiences:
- Experience in management accounting or financial reporting roles in a dynamic business.
- Understanding of US tax, compliance requirements and payroll implications.
- Ability to work with pace while maintaining accuracy.
- Confident communicator who can influence and build relationships remotely.
- Proactive, solutions-driven mindset with the ability to simplify complexity.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data.
- Experience navigating change or supporting growth environments.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CMA, CIMA, ACCA).
- Experience in a fast scaling, multi-entity or international organisations would be advantageous.
- Exposure to travel, hospitality or operationally fluid industries would also be an advantage in the role.
Salary is dependent on skills and experience, but the budget is up to £70k plus benefits. 4 days in the office is a must.
