The Role

We are looking for an experienced Service / Small Works Engineer to join our growing fire and security team. This role focuses on servicing, fault finding, repairs, and small works installations across fire and electronic security systems within commercial and industrial premises throughout the UK.

You will be responsible for maintaining system performance, carrying out remedial works, and providing a professional, customer-focused service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain, and fault-find fire alarm and electronic security systems
  • Carry out small works installations, modifications, and upgrades
  • Diagnose and rectify system faults efficiently and compliantly
  • Work on systems including fire alarms, emergency lighting, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarms
  • Complete service reports, test records, and compliance documentation accurately
  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding faults, remedial works, and system performance
  • Ensure all works comply with relevant British Standards and company procedures
  • Adhere to health & safety requirements and site-specific RAMS
  • Participate in on-call rota where applicable

About You

You will be technically competent, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently in live environments.

  • Proven experience servicing and fault-finding fire and security systems
  • Strong technical knowledge of fire alarm systems and electronic security systems
  • Experience working to latest British Standards
  • Good fault-diagnosis and problem-solving skills
  • Professional, customer-focused approach
  • ECS/CSCS or equivalent site certification
  • Full UK driving licence
