Overview:
We are seeking a full time Kitchen Supervisor to join our Aughnacloy team. The Kitchen Supervisor will support the Home Manager in maintaining a high standard of food provision, hygiene, and kitchen operations within the home. The role involves coordinating all kitchen duties, supervising staff, and ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently, safely, and in line with all relevant standards.
Main Duties:
- Plan menus with consideration for nutrition, resident needs, and cost-effectiveness
- Prepare, cook, and serve meals, including daily baking
- Manage stock ordering, delivery checks, and stock control
- Supervise and support kitchen staff, including identifying training needs
- Ensure compliance with infection control, food hygiene, and health & safety standards
- Maintain accurate records in line with company policies and legislation
- Carry out kitchen audits and implement improvements where required
- Liaise with care and nursing staff regarding residents’ dietary needs
- Meet with residents and families to establish dietary preferences and requirements
- Support management with staff training and recruitment
- Promote continuous improvement in kitchen practices and service delivery
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum of 1 year’s kitchen experience to include basic cooking, temperature control and stock ordering.
- Minimum of 6 months experience supervising a team of staff.
Desirable Criteria:
- Food Safety for Catering certificate – Level 2.
- Kitchen or support services experience working within a hospital or Nursing Home environment.
