Join My Team as a PBS Support Worker. I am a happy and sociable 58 year old woman living in Clacton and I’m looking for positive, kind, and outgoing Support Workers to join my team and support me to live the life I enjoy. I have Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD), Cerebral Palsy, and Asthma, and I am a wheelchair user. Sometimes I find expressive communication difficult, so I need support workers who are patient, good listeners, and able to communicate calmly and clearly. This is a 1:1 support role where consistency, kindness, and a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approach are very important.

About The Role
As my Support Worker, you will help me live a happy, active and fulfilling life both at home and in the community. I enjoy getting out and about, including:
- Trips into town
- Visiting McDonald’s or the fish and chip shop
- Travelling by train to Southend to visit my family
Your role will involve supporting me with both physical needs and emotional wellbeing, ensuring I feel safe, comfortable, and supported. At times I may present with behaviours of concern, so it is important that you can remain calm, patient, and supportive, using a Positive Behaviour Support approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering Person-Centred Support
- Supporting with personal care and daily routines
- Providing emotional reassurance and companionship
- Supporting communication with patience and understanding
- Supporting a wheelchair user both at home and in the community
- Assisting with manual handling (training provided)
- Ensuring comfort and safety throughout the day
A big part of this role is supporting me to enjoy outings and social activities, including:
- Shopping trips
- Visits to cafés and takeaway restaurants
- Travelling to visit family
- Community activities and days out
At times I may experience emotional distress or behaviours of concern, so you will need to:
- Remain calm and supportive
- Use Positive Behaviour Support strategies
- Follow behaviour support plans
- Help maintain a structured and supportive environment
