Choices Homecare are seeking compassionate Domiciliary Care Workers for our locations across the Wakefield region. Supporting individuals to live safely, independently, and with dignity in their own home and community, empowering them to live the life they choose. We collaborate closely with local authorities, healthcare providers, and care professionals to deliver outcome-focused care.

Working Hours

Our service provides care 7 days a week between 07:00 and 22:00. We are specifically seeking evening and weekend workers covering 4pm–10pm, Monday to Sunday. You can share your preferred days of work and this will be agreed on a 2‑week rolling rota. We offer flexible zero‑hour contracts where you can choose to work as many hours as you’d like. This role is paid for care delivery time only, with mileage between calls reimbursed at 30p per mile. This is not a block pay position.

Key Responsibilities of a Care Worker

  • Supporting individuals with personal care needs such as washing, dressing, and toileting.
  • Assisting with medication administration and documentation in line with care plans.
  • Preparing meals and assisting with eating and drinking where required.
  • Promoting independence and encouraging service users to engage in daily living tasks.
  • Building positive relationships with individuals and their families.
  • Supporting emotional well‑being and recognising signs of distress or changes in behaviour.
  • Maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment in the home.
  • Respecting confidentiality and always maintaining professional boundaries.
