Choices Homecare are seeking compassionate Domiciliary Care Workers for our locations across the Sefton region. Supporting individuals to live safely, independently, and with dignity in their own home and community, empowering them to live the life they choose. About Choices Homecare

Choices Homecare are proudly part of the Optimo Care Group that supports service users across the UK with over 1,500 dedicated employees and a strong presence across multiple regions. We collaborate closely with local authorities, healthcare providers, and care professionals to deliver outcome-focused care.

Working hours

Our service provides care 7 days a week between 07:00 - 23:00. We welcome applicants who seek both full-time and part-time hours. Please indicate your preference of working days and hours on the prescreen application form. Please specify your full availability on application to enable us to best place you. We’re proud to offer flexible zero-hour contracts where you can choose to work as many hours as you’d like. To keep things fair for everyone, we ask for a minimum of 16 hours each week, with every other weekend included. You’ll work on a simple 2-week rolling rota, so you’ll always know your schedule in advance. This role is paid for care delivery time only, with mileage between calls reimbursed at 30p per mile. This is not a block pay position.

Key Responsibilities of a Care Worker

  • Supporting individuals with personal care needs such as washing, dressing, and toileting.
  • Assisting with medication administration and documentation in line with care plans.
  • Preparing meals and assisting with eating and drinking where required.
  • Promoting independence and encouraging service users to engage in daily living tasks.
  • Building positive relationships with individuals and their families.
  • Supporting emotional well-being and recognising signs of distress or changes in behaviour.
  • Maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment in the home.
  • Respecting confidentiality and always maintaining professional boundaries.

  • UK driving licence and own vehicle essential within certain routes/locations (30p per mile fuel allowance).

To Note

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must have current and valid permission to work in the UK. You’ll need a full UK driving licence and your own vehicle. To cover travel between clients, you’ll also need business use included on your own car insurance – this is usually a quick and inexpensive addition to your existing policy.
