This is a Technical PM role focused on our CMS product. We are looking for a talented and motivated Senior Product Manager with a strong technical background to oversee the Developer experience CMS team ("Delivery"). This team builds and maintains the APIs, SDKs, rendering infrastructure, and implementation tooling that power how content is delivered from our CMS to front‑end experiences. We are looking for a technical, detail‑oriented product manager who thrives in complex systems, understands the developer and implementer persona deeply, and has experience with front‑end frameworks and API design. This role is central to how Optimizely CMS is adopted and extended by customers and partners across the globe.
Job Responsibilities
- Product Development: Lead the end‑to‑end product lifecycle from ideation through to launch. Prioritize features and enhancements based on user feedback, market trends, and business impact. Create and maintain roadmaps, write Product Requirements Documents (PRDs), and set a predictable cadence for delivery.
- Strategy & Vision: Define and drive a clear, compelling strategy to deliver an outstanding developer onboarding and maintenance experience in an AI‑first world. Identify and deliver AI‑powered capabilities across documentation, tooling, debugging, and content delivery workflows.
- Customer Obsession: Act as the voice of the implementer. Work closely with customers, partners, and internal developers to deeply understand the needs of frontend teams building websites with Optimizely. Build world‑class developer experiences by improving SDKs, APIs, CLI tools, AI‑assisted productivity tools and documentation/samples. Own the tooling and patterns used by partners and customers during implementation, debugging, scaling, and long‑term maintenance.
- Collaboration & Communication: Partner tightly with engineering, support, documentation, and GTM teams. Provide clear product requirements and articulate trade‑offs at every stage.
- Analytics & Adoption: Implement and maintain product analytics and build comprehensive reporting that enables monitoring and improving feature adoption.
Knowledge and Experience Qualifications
- Experience: 2-5 years of product management experience, with at least 1 year in a developer focused product. Preferably within the same tech or SaaS industry.
- Technical Fluency: Comfortable discussing architecture, SDKs, and React‑based tooling with engineers. Experience with front‑end technologies and modern implementation frameworks is a strong plus.
- Agentic Systems & Tooling Experience: Familiarity with designing and deploying AI agents that can take action across developer workflows (e.g., code generation, debugging, content modeling, or deployment tasks). Experience working with or building MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers or similar systems that provide structured context and tool access to AI agents.
- Customer Orientation: Deep empathy for developers and implementers. You’ve worked closely with implementation partners or services teams and know what great enablement looks like.
- Strategic Thinker: Able to prioritize long‑term bets alongside short‑term customer needs. Experienced at managing technical debt while delivering net new value.
- Influence & Autonomy: Proven ability to lead without authority and to collaborate cross‑functionally at scale.
- Communication Excellence: Skilled at writing clear and concise documentation, PRDs, and release notes. Comfortable presenting to customers and internal stakeholders and communicating technical concepts to a non‑technical audience.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with CMS platforms or content management solutions.
- Background in building and implementing websites.
- Experience managing AI‑based products to boost developer productivity.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
