The Director of Solutions Architecture is a senior technology and commercial leader responsible for shaping Optimizely’s pre-sales technical strategy and customer engagement model. Sitting at the intersection of Sales, Product, and Engineering, this role ensures Optimizely’s platform is positioned as a differentiated, value-driven solution across eCommerce, CMS, and digital experience. The Director leads and scales the Solution Architecture function, partners closely with Sales on complex enterprise opportunities, and acts as a trusted advisor to customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and scale a high-performing Solution Architecture team
- Own pre-sales technical strategy and execution across enterprise and strategic accounts
- Serve as senior technical authority on the Optimizely platform
- Partner with Sales leadership on complex, high-value deals
- Establish best practices for discovery, demos, and POCs
- Ensure customer evaluations clearly articulate business value and ROI
- Influence product direction through structured customer and market feedback
- Enable partners and support go-to-market strategy and messaging
- Represent Optimizely as a technical and industry thought leader
Knowledge And Experience
- Strong background in digital experience platforms (CMS, eCommerce, digital marketing)
- Experience leading pre-sales, solution architecture, or technical consulting teams
- Solid understanding of modern web architectures and enterprise solution design
- Prior hands-on technical background (Microsoft/.NET preferred)
- Proven ability to engage senior technical and business stakeholders
- Excellent communication, leadership, and commercial awareness
Education
- Bachelor's degree preferably in Computer Science or Information Technology/Systems with equivalent work experience
