Overview

In this Group Financial Controller role, you lead global accounting and regional finance teams across multiple regions to deliver rigorous control and modern, automated close and reporting.

You drive IFRS compliance, audit readiness, and strategic financial governance for a PE-backed Saa S business.

You partner with FP&A and the CEO/CFO to shaping AI-enabled finance transformations at scale.

You will influence cross-border processes, intercompany policy, and treasury management to support the company’s next growth chapter.

This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role at the heart of Optimizely’s finance function with a clear transformation agenda.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee global month-, quarter-, and year-end close across all entities with a tight calendar
  • Manage regional and consolidated flux analysis and present variances to finance leadership
  • Deliver audit-ready consolidated management accounts and narratives with FP&A
  • Lead IFRS compliance and external audits across multiple jurisdictions
  • Drive automation to shorten close timelines while maintaining control
  • Serve as in-house IFRS technical accounting authority (IFRS 15, 16, 2, 3, IAS 36, IAS 21)
  • Lead transition to IFRS 18 and ensure Chart of Accounts readiness
  • Oversee statutory filings and regulatory compliance across jurisdictions
  • Coach regional controllers and develop IFRS capability across teams
  • Lead adoption of AI/automation tools in close, reconciliations, and analytics
  • Ensure robust intercompany processes, transfer pricing consistency, and governance
  • Own cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and FX oversight
  • Support exit readiness activities for IPO/trade sales and M&A diligence
  • Partner with Tax and Legal on entity rationalization and hedging
  • Key requirements
  • 10+ years in accounting or controllership in a complex, multi-entity international business
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with strong IFRS knowledge
  • Proven experience managing statutory reporting and external audits across jurisdictions
  • Past audit experience, ideally at a top 10 firm, preferred
  • Experience in PE-backed Saa S or high-growth tech is strongly preferred
  • Hands-on experience with Net Suite; familiarity with close automation platforms (Ledge, Flo Qast, Black Line) and AI-enabled finance tooling is a differentiator
