About The Role
We’re looking for an industry experienced Risk Manager to join our Energy Trading and Procurement team. The successful candidate can be based out of our Blackpool, Bristol or Redhill offices, with hybrid working available. The Risk Manager will be responsible for effective delivery of key activities related to global energy markets and will provide professional energy risk management services to domestic and international client accounts.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage client energy commodity market exposures and associated financial risks.
- Daily monitoring of price targets/trigger levels.
- Record and report trade execution and market activity.
- Produce weekly and monthly client position reports.
- Create and distribute monthly Insight reports, annual performance reports and prepare ad hoc written reports as necessary.
- Provide fundamental and statistical analysis and reporting on global commodity and European energy markets.
- Review, where appropriate, all aspects of tenders, including RFQs, price analysis, client recommendations and supplier feedback.
- Lead weekly internal market updates and circulate information and actions.
- Issue client recommendations with supporting rationale.
- Support client market strategy development.
- Deliver market presentations to various client relationships.
- Maintain relevance of product suite, analysis methodologies and wider team knowledge.
- Develop bespoke strategies/expand RMS documentation for sophisticated clients (Flex Import & Export).
Qualifications
- More than 2 years’ experience in Trading, Risk Management or Energy Procurement.
- The ability to articulate alternative propositions and make recommendations based on sound logic and reasoning.
- Proficiency with market data platforms such as Refinitiv Eikon and Bloomberg Terminal as well as advanced Excel.
- Experience developing forecasting models and quantitative analysis techniques.
- Interest in the European energy industry with knowledge of market drivers.
- Strong analytical skills and numerate mindset, with attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships both digitally and in person.
