We’re looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager to accelerate growth across our Utility Management division. Following continued growth across our energy and sustainability services, we’re investing further in our commercial team to support increasing market demand. The opportunity: This is a consultative sales role focused on winning new Utility Management clients across the UK. Reporting to the Head of New Business, you’ll take ownership of the full sales lifecycle - from identifying and developing opportunities through to negotiation, close and handover into delivery. You’ll have the autonomy to build relationships, shape opportunities and influence commercial growth, supported by a dedicated new business, business generation and marketing team. You’ll engage with senior stakeholders across finance, procurement, sustainability and operations, helping organisations improve how they manage energy, cost and carbon.

Job requirements:
- Proven B2B sales experience within energy, utilities, sustainability or related consultancy sectors
- Strong track record of securing new business and consistently delivering against targets
- Experience managing complex consultative sales cycles
- Strong understanding of utility management, energy procurement, cost management or sustainability drivers
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders confidently
- Commercially minded with strong proposal and solution development capability
- Highly driven, commercially focused and motivated by delivering results
- A genuine passion for sustainability and helping organisations transition towards net zero
Job responsibilities:
- Driving new business growth across Optimised’s Utility Management services
- Building and managing a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities with support from our business generation executives and marketing team
- Leading the full sales process from discovery through to contract award
- Developing consultative, value-led solutions tailored to client needs
- Working closely with internal technical experts to shape compelling proposals
- Building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across multiple sectors
- Representing Optimised at industry events, networking opportunities and client meetings
- Maintaining accurate forecasting, CRM management and pipeline reporting
- Supporting wider commercial growth strategies across the business
