About the role
As our Energy Operations Manager within the Energy Management division, you'll be responsible for the operational management, commercial performance and day-to-day delivery oversight of the survey, compliance, analysis and advisory functions within the division. Managing a team of technical specialists, you'll oversee resource planning, client delivery, financial performance and continuous improvement across key energy compliance and advisory services, including ESOS and Heat Network Regulations. Working closely with colleagues across the business, including our Technology team, you'll help identify opportunities to harness AI and digital innovation to improve efficiency, streamline processes and enhance service delivery. As a member of the divisional leadership team, you'll play a key role in shaping strategy, supporting business growth and ensuring our services deliver outstanding outcomes for clients. This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring both strong operational management skills and the technical expertise to support delivery when needed.
We understand that candidates have varying experiences, and it is unlikely that all aspects of the role description will be an exact match. Please do not be deterred if that is the case – we would still welcome your application if you are passionate about our vision and have relevant experience.

Requirements
  • Experience in an operational, project management or team leadership role within the energy, sustainability or related technical services sector, with a demonstrable ability to manage multiple workstreams, priorities and responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Genuine technical credibility in energy consultancy delivery, with demonstrable experience leading or delivering technical energy workstreams such as ESOS assessments, Heat Network Regulations compliance or similar statutory and advisory programmes.
  • Experience leading, managing or mentoring a team of technical professionals, with the ability to provide clear direction, support individual development and foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including experience of financial reporting, performance management and commercial oversight within a team or business unit context.
  • Experience managing client relationships, with the ability to act as a credible operational point of contact and manage escalations effectively.
  • Experience scoping, pricing and commercially structuring consultancy or analytical workstreams within a professional services or managed services environment.
  • Experience managing subcontract or third party resource within a delivery or consultancy context, with the ability to set clear expectations and maintain delivery and quality standards.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to represent functions confidently at a senior level and communicate complex technical and commercial concepts clearly.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines and workstreams across a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Understanding of integrated energy and utility management service models, with the ability to see how individual delivery workstreams contribute to a broader client relationship and service journey.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
